Apple week
Eating apple sauce
Lily and I had fun this past week. She really liked Way Up High in the Apple Tree, and eating apples. We painted an apple tree with water colors for the first time. (first time using water colors) and we had fun tasting different apple foods-applesauce, apple jacks, apple juice, dried apples, and regular apples. We counted how many red apples we had and how many green apples, and we also made applesauce. Lily was very excited every day to learn about apples! This next week we're going to do pumpkins and the letter P.

Week 3 Apples
So we're doing apples and the letter A next week. I found this website that has lots of apple songs. http://www.alphabet-soup.net/dir2/applesong.html. We'll do Way up high in the Apple Tree, make applesauce, do finger painting to make apple trees, and we'll see what else. Does anyone have a good place to create calendars or schedules online? I'm having a really hard time finding a place to put in all of my information/ideas for the week/month.

Week 2 continued
So, i haven't been as great this week. WE're still doing leaves. On Monday we made a leaf picture-we collected leafs and glued them on contruction paper and colored it. yesterday we looked at computer stuff and colored. Tomorrow I think we'll try painting! Next week we're going to do apples, and then Halloween.

Week 2
So I haven't been as good this week-we missed 2 days. However, on Tuesday we made chocolate chip zuccinni bread and made a fall tree out of handprints, so that was fun. She's still saying L for her name, and we've talked about fall leaves. Today I found a book at the library for Mary Had a Little Lamb, which we read. I also went to Michaels this week and bought supplies, like finger paint, regular paint, construction paper, and scissors. I forgot a stapler and staples though, which I need so that we can make our little books.

End of Week 1
So, I decided Fridays will be our computer game day. We went to the Sesame Street website and watched videos about the letter L. We also colored our book about Lily with markers, which she loved doing, and talked about the letter L, and that Lily and Lance start with L. And now, when you ask her what Lily starts with, she says, "LLLLLL," drawing the L sound. Its so fun! I think next week we'll continue with L and talk about Fall.

Week 1-The letter L
Today we sang a song about the letter L. http://www.dltk-teach.com/alphabuddies/songs/l/letterlsong.htm
I don't think Lily knows what a leapord is, so I changed the words to Lily. I'd like to get a chalk board or white board so that we can practice writing. Not that I expect her to learn to write, but I guess you have to start sometime!

Week 1 Days 1 & 2
We're doing All About Me this week, so we've read a book on feelings. We're singing Mary Had a Little Lamb, and I have a little stuffed lamb that we use while we sing it. Today we talked about what we do in the morning and at night. Today was more like 15 minutes, but at least it's the habit of "school."

Week 1
So for my first official week we're going to do the letter L, All About Me, and the color yellow.
We're doing L since Lily starts with L. I don't really expect her to get it, but that's okay.

Day 2
Today we just colored and sang Mary had a Little Lamb and made a bunny. But Lily is understanding that she's having "school." She showed Robby when he got home the bunny and told him it was from "cool." http://www.dltk-teach.com/rhymes/mary_had_a_little_lamb_dltk.htm

Day 1: Lily's 1st Day of School
So, I've decided to start a "school" for Lily. I've been wanted something to help keep myself busy, and a way to do more crafts and activities with Lily. So last night I decided that we're going to have "school" every day after luch for 1/2 hour. And I'm going to keep a blog with what I do each day so that next year I can just refer to it with Lily and Lance, or if I ever decide to teach preschool or something, I'll have something kind of established.
Day 1: Today we read a few books about school, and I told Lily I was her teacher. We sang Mary Had a Little Lamb and had music time, where we talked about what our hands do and sang about our hands. Then we had computer time and watched a few videos of Elmo singing about hands.
